First Solo Trip
One of the best decisions I took was to travel SOLO.
I chose to travel solo on my Birthdayπ. How it started? In the month of February, 2019 something terrible happened and which led me into a depression. I didn’t go to the office straight for a week, stopped talking to everyone including my family and friends and the worst part was I started smoking a pack of cigarettes everyday. I was on my worst behavior during that time. After that I went back to my home for a month in March and was working from home. Since my birthday comes in the month of March and I never like to celebrate it in a clichΓ© way. Since, I love travelling and tried to travel once in every quarter before pandemic. Therefore, I was Planning a trip but this time all alone.
I moved to Delhi for further study in 2015 and as per my experience it’s one of the worst cities to live in for a girl alone. However, it is closest to my hometown like other metro cities and my office was also in Gurgaon therefore I didn’t want to move to any other city in India. So, before going on this trip I did a lot of research. As living alone in Delhi makes an illusion in your mind that no place is safe for a girl in India. I was scared a lot and had numerous questions in my mind. Will I be safe there? Will I be able to do this?
The Answer is “Yes I did it”.
I chose to go to Dharamshala which is situated in Himachal Pradesh, India. It’s covered with the Himalayan ranges. Honestly, it was one of the best journeys of my life. Travelling alone opens your arena and lets you be what you want to be. There is no one to judge you and no one is there to stop you from trying any new adventure (as friends are concerned about your safety ❤️). I learned various new things about people, their culture and most importantly about myself.
I made many new friends there who were from various parts of the world. I did Adventure Sports like trekking, campingπ️ and paragliding along with that i also learned other new things, which was an amazing experience.
Though I have travelled alone many times but later my friends or family would join me at a place.
In conclusion, I would like to say that I would love to go on more such trips like this, but due to Covid-19 I am avoiding making any such plans. I will recommend this to everyone to experience the magic of travelling alone. I have analyzed many new things about myself and I have become more confident after this trip.
Yes, I am proud of myself for doing this and I am becoming a better version of myself everyday post this trip. π
Wonderful! Though I don't like travelling alone but I liked this blog. But how is smoking a pack of cigarettes, a bad thing ? π
